@ University of Toronto
This group assignment aimed to see what proportion of Fall 2022 STA304 students actually read and follow instructions. The goals of the assignment were to practice designing and conducting surveys for statistical analysis. For this project, we distributed a questionnaire with 10 questions: 7 questions were “fake”; the remaining 3 “real” questions listed the correct answer for readers to submit.
The results of this study are relevant to behavioral research on students and teaching staff as it shows there is a high proportion of students who do not read instructions (only ~9% of participants read our questionnaire correctly). This statistic may also be helpful in training and development in universities to better student experiences.
This assignment was written for an undergraduate statistics course at the University of Toronto. The full report is included below; minor individual edits (e.g. grammar) have been made.
